Parnell-based creative shop Satellite has written & filmed two 30-second online videos to celebrate Skycity’s long sponsorship relationship with the Vodafone Warriors.
The creative takes eight Warriors and sets them up as ‘staff’ at Skycity – uniforms and all. The videos have been released online with the comedic take obviously resonating with fans, judging by the comments.
The first video sees Isaac Luke and Tui Lolohea as hotel cleaners resplendent in beige uniforms complete with feather dusters, Bunty Afoa as a dedicated manicurist at East Day Spa and Simon Mannering as a valet at The Grand Hotel struggling to fit into a guest’s tiny sports car.
The second video sees Solomone Kata and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck performing at Bellota in full traditional Spanish costume, David Fusitu’a trying his skills as a croupier on the main casino floor, and Sam Lisone as a chef at Fortuna, quite rightly denying a Bulldogs fan his share of food.
The video also played out on the big screen at Mt Smart Stadium during last Sunday’s clash with the Gold Coast Titans (the Warriors won!).
The hub
“Skycity is the home of the Vodafone Warriors and the team is part of the Skycity Auckland family,” says marketing manager Julie Garlick. “This was taken to a whole new level in these videos.
“They were absolute naturals and we think the videos are not only a good laugh, but they also help showcase Skycity as the large entertainment hub that we are.
“We have such a variety of activities here including the hotels, casino, restaurants, entertainment and day spa, and it’s great to have the Vodafone Warriors on board to help us demonstrate that.”
That’s the first video at the top of this page. Here’s the other
