Over 1000 Dentsu Aegis Network Australia & NZ staff will today come together to support causes and charities within their local communities.

This is the third year running that the network holds One Day for Change, an annual initiative where all staff in each country across the Asia Pacific region (around 8100 souls, in total) are encouraged to go out and volunteer.

Last year, DAN APAC staffers donated 42,336 hours of their time.

This year, One Day for Change has an overarching theme, Champions for Children, which broadly includes health, education, water, abuse, family and housing for underprivileged children.

Staff at Dentsu Aegis Network in Australia and New Zealand will be supporting over 20 different charities, including RSPCA, The Big Issue, Father Bob Foundation, Baptcare, Our Watch, Australian Childhood Foundation, Miracle Babies, Royal Women’s Hospital, Salvation Army, Foodbank Victoria, Challenge, World Vision Australia, Alannah & Madeline Foundation, St Kilda Mums, The School of Life, CLAN, Clean up Australia, Dandelion Support Network, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Habitats for Humanity, Save the Children, Parkerville Children & Youth Care Services, Missing School and Ranui Primary School.

“As a business, we are all too aware of the commitment we have to give back to the communities that we operate in,” said DAN ANZ’s Melbourne-based ceo Simon Ryan.

“One Day for Change is how we demonstrate that commitment and is a great opportunity for our staff to work together to make a significant difference in the community.”

DAN APAC ceo Nick Waters said: “One Day for Change has united colleagues across the region as we aim to make a positive contribution to our local communities.

“Our global CSR strategy is to help create a better future for all, and I hope that the initiative will also serve as a reminder to our colleagues and friends that there are many out there less fortunate and privileged than ourselves, and to inspire others to give back – beyond one day, to the local communities where we all live.”
