Northland-based, nationally known writer Sandy Myhre – NZ Motorsport Journalist of the Year in 2007 – has launched an online lifestyle magazine spotlighting the region from the Bay of Island to Cape Reinga.
Signpost North is a way more sophisticated publication than most free regional titles – the first issue captures the region’s resurgence with features on the Kerikeri Theatre Co’s latest production, the Birdman Festival, the Russian National Ballet Theatre’s Swan Lake, as well as local events, markets and fairs, and – as you might expect – the subject quite often turns to cars.
It’s a clean, mobile-friendly site, edited by Myhre, and laid out like a regular magazine, with 14 double-page spreads. It seems to be gathering support from local and national advertisers – BDO, Mondo Travel, Spicers, Kauri Cliffs, and the local Green list MP all feature.
