CBD-based content creation company Frontside has netted the full marketing account for the SKYCITY Breakers, and launched a new service, FRONTSIDE InHouse.

The move brings all of SKYCITY Breakers online video content production, game day and behind-the-scenes photography, social media, creative design, web analytics and advertising in-house.

“This move gives us the opportunity to be champions of our own content and tell our on- and off-court stories in real time,” SKYCITY Breakers ceo Richard Clarke says. “Frontside completely understand what we are trying to achieve, and they want us to succeed across many different areas purely out of their genuine interest in the club’s vision to become a basketball dynasty.”

Frontside general manager Gary Gumbleton says the way consumers are viewing video content is changing by the day, with a mass movement towards social on mobile. “Naturally, brands need to address content creation issues, such as keeping up production momentum, employing their own team and managing the process all themselves,” he says.

Gumbleton says the Breakers account acquisition launches Frontside’s InHouse services. “Offering in-house services for their clients will see Frontside staff working in client offices and giving brands fresh ideas, while adding value to their existing services.”

Frontside founder Robett Hollis said: “I grew up playing basketball for Canterbury and NZ so for all these years later to further expand our partnership with the SKYCITY NZ Breakers is a total honour. The Breakers and Frontside are both teams driven by passion and positive energy so for us it was a fully organic fit.

“By combining the Breakers’ winning framework with our creative, digital and video production capabilities I’m confident we will bring nothing but good things for Breaker Nation and basketball fans all over New Zealand.”

The website says Frontside was founded in 2005, and grew organically from Hollis’ love of action sports, and passion for video production.
