oOh!media has appointed Adam McGregor as general manager of oOh! in New Zealand, replacing Cameron Taylor, who joined Ambient Group as outdoor general manager in June.

McGregor, who was until recently the general manager of the Outdoor Media Association of New Zealand (OMANZ), has almost 20 years of OOH experience.

In Auckland, he will work alongside NZ business manager Ben Cox in the oOh! office in Newton.

“Adam’s appointment coincides with the company’s investment in new products and technologies that will enable advertisers in New Zealand to experience the best of the best,” said oOh!’s Sydney-based oOh! ceo Brendon Cook.

Cook said the appointment was an important milestone for oOh! NZ. “It comes at a particularly busy time,” he said. “Adam is a results focused individual with a career demonstrating the ability to consistently deliver growth.

“oOh! is currently investing dramatically in new products and technology that will enable advertisers in New Zealand to experience the best of the best.”

McGregor said that while he had worked with some of the biggest agencies and brands in the world, he was excited to be joining oOh! and driving the business forward.

“It’s a wonderful challenge to be part of one of the world leaders in outdoor advertising,” he said. The business embracing some of the best technology available, including the digitisation of our assets.

“The New Zealand OOH market sits at 3.5% of all advertising which is below the global benchmark of 5%. Australia has recently broken through this barrier with some fantastic growth in 2014.

“The potential is absolutely there for OOH to achieve the same success in New Zealand and oOh! knows what to do to get there.”

McGregor will take up his position in early August.
