Ogilvy & Mather has finally found a replacement for ECD Angus Hennah, who left the agency in November 2014 before joining Special Group as CD in May this year. The new ECD in Stanley St is a real catch – internationally awarded FCB creative Regan Grafton, who takes up the reins in mid-September.

Grafton joins O&M after three years as ECD at FCB, nine at DDB as CD. Before that, he worked at Y&R as a creative.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to join the Ogilvy team and work with some of the best brands in New Zealand,” he said in a statement released by the agency. “I can see a huge amount of potential to produce some great work and I’m looking forward to being part of taking Ogilvy to the next level.”

Ogilvy managing director Greg Partington said Regan’s arrival signals another critical element in the evolution, growth and influence of Ogilvy & Mather.

“Positioning an exceptional executive creative director to spearhead our creative leadership has been a vital component in further fuelling our momentum in the market,” Partington said. “Our structure and resource is geared for a new era and we are thrilled to have Regan on board.”

The most recent campaign overseen by Grafton at FCB was Vodafone Piggy Sue, currently No 1 on the M+AD/Colmar Brunton TVC Top 10 (www.mad-daily.com/cute-is-gooood).
