The Colenso BBDO/Proximity combo entered the 2016 Axis Awards season with a remarkable 81 campaigns making it through to the awards finals. FCB was #2 on the list with 60 finalists, while Y&R outdid themselves with 57.

DDB Group and The Sweet Shop come next – both on 22. Special Group is the most successful of the indies with 20 finalists (several indie shops also scored well, notably Sugar&Partners and Barnes Catmur & Friends – read on).

Next (in order) are Saatchi & Saatchi (15), Finch and Clemenger BBDO/Proximity (13 apiece), Sugar&Partners (11), True, (7), Geometry Global (5), Barnes Catmur & Friends, Ogilvy, US & Co, Assembly, and Goodoil (4 each), Flying Fish, Flare, Stink, and Waxeye (3 each), Flux, Revolver, Thick As Thieves, Whybin\TBWA, Curious and bcg2 (2 apiece).

One finalist spot each went to 8 (formerly known as 8com), Scoundrel, Harmonic, The Coopers, Cheshire Architects, Sherson Wills, Spark PR, Strategy and Contagion.

All up, there were 38 finalists.
