APN Outdoor targets National Elite Screen network with the launch of Wellington’s first screen – on Aotea Quay.
APN Outdoor has today unveiled Wellington’s first Elite screen, launched at 12.01 this morning. “The launch of this site marks an impressive addition to our burgeoning digital portfolio, now standing at eight screens strong across New Zealand,” said general manager Phil Clemas.
Clemas says the Wellington move signals the start of further growth for APN Outdoors’ national footprint with screens in Christchurch and Hamilton to join the network in April (their established network in Auckland has five screens).
The 12.1 x 3.2m Wellington LED site is adjacent to the motorway off-ramp and catches city-bound traffic numbering in excess of 53,000 per day.
Up until now, Wellington’s large format advertising was available only through traditional billboards and the launch of the new screen will give advertisers the chance to take advantage of the unique qualities digital outdoor can provide.
“The launch of this screen at Aotea Quay marks the beginning of digital outdoor in Wellington and grows our footprint beyond Auckland,” Clemas said. “This investment marks an exciting time for the industry in New Zealand, and I’m proud to see APN Outdoor continue to lead the charge as we near the launch of the country’s first large format National Digital Network due in late April.”
Clemas says APN Outdoor have taken a leadership stance in the field of digital outdoor, “consistently seeking out the most advanced technology, developing only in the most premium locations and expanding the scale of the Elite Screen portfolio on both sides of the Tasman”.
“Not all digital outdoor is created equal and it is important that advertisers and their agencies distinguish between premium and non-premium quality,” Clemas said. “Not only will this affect value but brand association too.”
In addition to the pending launch of their Elite screens in Hamilton and Christchurch, APN Outdoor will soon announce the launch of two more Elite screens – on the Victoria Park Flyover and a super standalone screen “in another special part of Auckland”.
