Writer, columnist, humourist, and TV3 7 Days regular Urzila Carlson will emcee this Thursday’s Axis Awards at the Viaduct Events Centre in downtown Auckland.
The show is sold out (800 tickets) but events manager Natasha Stichbury says she still has “the odd seat” stashed away “for emergencies”.
The centre’s doors open at 6.30pm, and the awards show will begin at 7.30 sharp (wrapping around 10pm).
This year, Auckland band The Hipstamatics will perform as the show comes to an end (“just one of many surprises we’d got planned,” Stichbury says).
The afterparty – this year at Josh Emett’s Ostro Restaurant & Bar in the Britomart (main entrance at 52 Tyler St) – will run from 10.30pm to until the wee hours of the morning.
