Forget the Parker fight – the biggest heavyweight bout of the year has been won by MediaWorks star Paul Henry, who knocked out former champion Mike Hosking in the first round, taking out the Sir Paul Holmes Broadcaster of the Year and Best Talk Presenter belts at Friday’s NZ Radio Awards.
There were still a few decent crumbs left for NZME, which took out Network Station of the Year with Newstalk ZB (last year’s winner, The Edge didn’t even make the finals).
The Edge did, however, win Best Music Breakfast show with deejays Jay Jay, Dom and Randell.
RadioLive’s Lloyd Burr won Best Journalist, while Newstalk ZB’s Leighton Smith won Talkback Presenter of the Year.
