After almost four years in business, integrated Auckland indie agency Chemistry Interaction continues to grow and has made three new hires in the wake of recent new client wins helloworld, ChildFund and Placemakers.
Penny Wolhuter has been appointed senior account director. She’s a recent import from South Africa. Her track record includes seven years at Ogilvy Durban as group account director and five years at Primedia Lifestyle, where she managed marketing for the largest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere.
She’s also worked on Wild Coast Sun Casino, Continental Tyres, Unilever, Audi, Volkswagen and Baby City, and is a winner at South Africa’s top creative advertising award, The Loeries, as well as over 30 awards for her shopping centre work.
“Chemistry is seriously on the way up and I look forward to being part of the journey,” she says.
Mel Moss joins as a senior account manager. Previously she worked at leading London content marketing agency Axonn Media.
A true content marketing expert, Moss is passionate about all things digital and specialises in creating content marketing strategies. She’s worked on Western Union, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Speights and Smirnoff.
“I chose Chemistry because they filled in the gaps of a traditional agency,” she said. “I know that sounds like a cliché, but it was important to me to join a smart independent who not only challenges their clients, but also themselves.”
Also fresh off the boat is account executive Jamie Lund, who joins straight from “bleeding edge” London tech startup upmysport, where his role included content curation, community management and social media planning.
“Joining Chemistry was a chance to learn from award-winning creatives and suits in the coolest environment in the business. And it was on the opposite side of the world. How could I have said no?”
Chemistry co-founder/director Joseph Silk said: We’re always on the lookout for the best talent at Chemistry and we’re delighted that the guys have joined us at such an exciting time. Our business is constantly growing and changing and it’s all about having the right people to take us where we need to go.”
