FCB New Zealand has promoted head of integration Fleur Head to managing director, FCB Auckland. The MD role at FCB has been vacant since the departure of Justin Mowday, six years ago. The MD role had been effectively handled over the past year by ceo Brian van den Hurk – and PR director Angela Spain told M+AD the role has now been refined.
“The managing director will be responsible for driving the ongoing transformation of FCB’s business with a specific focus on the diversification of our services to the benefit of our clients,” said van den Hurk.
“Fleur will lead this, with my support and that of the wider management team, to ensure we continue to drive this innovation through our business.
“Fleur has always been a champion of creativity and that, coupled with her strategic thinking, means she has been a major contributor to our clients’ success. I’m sure she will apply that approach to her new role.”
Fleur will continue her involvement in client business and takes up the managing director position with immediate effect.
About Fleur Head
Head started her agency career in Wellington before moving to Auckland and joining Rainger Direct in 1998 where she spent seven years perfecting her direct marketing skills and eventually adding the ATL components to her clients portfolio and migrating into the Publicis Mojo team.
She joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2005 as business unit manager and GAD on the TVNZ account before joining FCB as head of account service in 2007.
At FCB she has overseen the growth and development of the account service team from 18 people to 52. She has led new business pitches and developed award winning and business transforming work for client. She currently oversees Vodafone, Mitre 10 and Mercury Energy. Eighteen months ago she moved into a new role at FCB as head of integration.
“Fleur Head is a proud generalist (which used to be frowned upon) but in this increasingly converged landscape it’s now the perfect background to take on the managing director role at FCB,” van den Hurk said. “She has equal love for big ideas, storytelling, innovation, data, marketing automation, retail, direct and digital. Whatever canvas is right to produce ideas to change behaviour and deliver business success for her clients.”
