Saturday 25 June 2016: The 63rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has concluded with a final awards ceremony to announce the winners of the Film, Film Craft, Titanium and Integrated Lions, alongside this year’s remaining special awards.
- Agency of the Year went to AlmapBBDO Sao Paulo. Grey New York came second and INGO, Stockholm third.
- Independent Agency of the Year went to Droga5, New York. Second place to Jung von Matt and third to Wieden+Kennedy, Portland.
- The Palme d’Or, given to the most awarded production company, was presented to Tool, USA. Epoch Films, USA came second and Stink, United Kingdom third.
- The Network of the Year award was presented to Ogilvy & Mather. Second to BBDO and third to Y&R.
- Also awarded was the Holding Company of the Year, which went to WPP. Second to Omnicom and third to Interpublic.
This year, over 15,000 attendees came to Cannes Lions. The festival included eight days of content, over 43,000 entries, seven awards shows, two galas – and networking opportunities throughout.
Country winners
- The USA ended the week with five Grand Prix, 70 Gold, 127 Silver and 126 Bronze Lions.
- The UK was #2 spot with 3 Grand Prix, 25 Gold, 51 Silver and 82 Bronze Lions.
- Brazil was 3rd with 19 Gold, 31 Silver and 81 Bronze.
- Germany was 4th with 13 Gold, 30 Silver, 41 Bronze.
- France was 5th with 1 Grand Prix, 9 Gold, 27 Silver, 31 Bronze.
- New Zealand was 6th with 3 Grand Prix, 2 Titanium Lions, 19 Gold, 19 Silver and 19 Bronze Lions.
- Australia was 7th in the world with 7 Gold, 22 Silver and 29 Bronze Lions.
