The 9th annual Battle of the Ad Bands theme is on again in September. The theme is Boy & Girl Bands, with a wildcard tribute to David Bowie and Prince.
“We’re not generationist either,” says CAANZ’s Botab organiser Katie Ward. “So if you’re more doo-wop than crop-top, all eras will be welcome, from The Supremes right through to One Direction.”
She says band registrations are only open for a few more weeks – “so sign up NOW”.
“You’ll have enough time to get those harmonies slicker than the hair gel holding up your frosted tips.”
