Veteran Kiwi TVC director Steve Saussey, formerly of Film Construction (and a copywriter at Mojo Auckland), and now at new Sydney producer Jungle Films, was at the helm of the latest Air NZ safety video, Safety in Hollywood, a blockbuster hailed by many as a masterpiece.
One of these was Business Herald aviation writer Grant Bradley, who asked: “Is this the best Air NZ safety vid?”
It stars Rhys Darby and Hollywood actress Anna Faris, and was filmed at four different sets at the Warner Bros studio in LA.
After the shoot, Faris released a statement: “I really wanted to be part of this project because Air New Zealand has really redefined safety videos with its fun and creative approach.
“And working with Kiwi actor Rhys Darby was an absolute treat. It’s so easy to tune out when watching a traditional safety video, so it comes as such a delightful surprise when you get something that’s really fun and funny.”
In the seven years since the series started, Air NZ safety videos have been viewed globally by 83 million viewers.
