New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) is leading the way with outstanding creative client campaigns, evident by their wins at the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers’ Association (PANPA) held in Sydney last week. NZME took home six PANPA Awards in total, three for work produced for national and local clients.
NZME also came away with an award at the TVNZ Marketing Awards held in Auckland last week. Their campaign for the Rugby World Cup ‘Nothing Else Matters,’ won the Media/Publishing Category. More on the TVNZ Marketing Awards in M+AD tomorrow.
Chief Marketing Officer Liza McNally is thrilled with the result of this year’s awards. “The results at both the PANPA and TVNZ Marketing Awards are something for the whole team to be proud of. These wins showcase the benefits of bringing our three businesses into one and our ability to deliver creative solutions above and beyond expectations, both for clients and our own brands, has energised the whole team. “
The PANPA Awards saw back to back wins in the critical Digital Advertising category for work with clients, BNZ and Spark.
‘BNZ Shred – The Native Campaign’ took the title for Best Digital Campaign for a Client – National/Metropolitan Titles, encouraging people to think more about their mortgage and shred their home loans faster. It was an integrated campaign on NZHerald.co.nz, with four branded content articles and a series of videos featuring NZME talent, including The Hits’ Flynny pranking Crowd Goes Wild Breakfast’s Andrew Mulligan into thinking the station would pay off his mortgage, to show the feeling of elation people could achieve.
NZME also took out the Best Digital Idea or Innovation (Open) section with ‘Spark Brand Feature’. The Herald teamed up with Spark to create an innovative branded content feature to help small businesses thrive in New Zealand. In the feature that asked ‘is your business running you?’, a number of small businesses shared their stories and tips on how to cope with the many challenges they face and how they overcame them.
Sally Gordon, Spark’s Senior Brand and Communications Manager, was delighted to hear about the win, though not surprised. “We were thrilled with the creative solution the NZME team developed for our ‘Is your business running you?’ campaign, so it’s great they were recognised for their work at the PANPA awards.“
NZME’s local highlight was for Best Print Single Advertisement for a Client – Regional Titles, taken out by Wanganui Chronicle for ‘Local and Loyal’ a partnership with Whanganui and Partners, a branch of the Whanganui District Council.
