TVNZ 2 has launched its First Dates series with a parallel TVC series hosted by Holly & Luke’s First Date, about two guinea pigs who – like the people in the show – are also searching for love.
Holly & Luke are the creations of TVNZ’s Blacksand production unit, led by creative director Amie Mills, and featuring the voices of senior publicist Kate Simmonds and executive creative director Jens Hertzum.
“Meet Holly and Luke,” says the TVNZ blurb. “Two single guinea pigs looking to find their perfect mate. We’re taking it back to the primal basics to teach Kiwis how to date better.
“We will follow their first dates and the ensuing will they/won’t they quest to find love. They’ll share their dating trials and tips as they learn what love is – in their own episodic storyline that runs alongside the show.”
You’ll find them Monday-Friday on both TVNZ 2 at 4:55pm and TVNZ DUKE around 5:30pm. Viewers can also stream them on TVNZ OnDemand (here).
Across the duration of Holly and Luke’s First Dates, they watch the show, and share tips and dating advice to help Kiwis learn how to date better.
“The purpose of the campaign is to attract a younger demographic to watch the show, and to encourage viewers to come back each week to watch First Dates New Zealand on TVNZ 2, Mondays 8.30pm,” says TVNZ communications manager Emma-Kate Greer.
The campaign runs across multiple devices, platforms and formats including YouTube, Pandora, TVNZ 2, TVNZ DUKE, TVNZ OnDemand, TVNZ 2 Facebook and Instagram, and paid display advertising.
