Independent NZ-owned corporate PR shop Acumen Republik is spruiking Coca-Cola NZ’s latest offering – Coca-Cola Ginger – and told M+AD that Coke would be revealing details of its summer campaign “soon”.
Ogilvy is Coca-Cola’s creative agency on both sides of the Tasman, so presumably this agency’s people are beavering away on the creative even as you read this.
The product appears to have already been launched in Australia – which is where we obtained our image.
New Zealanders will be among the first in the world to taste Coca-Cola Ginger. “With summer just around the corner, it is the perfect time to introduce a refreshing and sophisticated new flavour to our Coke fans here in New Zealand,” said Tracey Evans, head of marketing at Coca-Cola Oceania at the Oasis in Mt Wellington.
“This will be the first new flavour we have launched in New Zealand in almost a decade.”
“Coca-Cola Ginger delivers the great Coke taste with a refreshing new twist – a hint of ginger – we think Coke fans are going to love it.
“Coca-Cola Ginger is only being released in a limited edition run so Kiwis will need to get in quick to grab a bottle before they are gone.”
Evans points out that ginger is already a “trending flavour” in New Zealand, with sales of ginger-flavoured drinks up on previous years.
Coca-Cola Ginger will be available from this week in various pack sizes from independent and major retailers.
The launch of Coca-Cola Ginger kicks off Coke’s summer campaign with more to be revealed soon.
