Yahoo! New Zealand is to rebrand as Yahoo Platforms NZ, reflecting its offering in native and programmatic advertising.

“The pivot builds on the company’s current focus on data, content and technology and is driven by Yahoo Platforms’ two key properties – programmatic resource BrightRoll with BrightRoll DSP+ and BrightRoll Ad Exchange, and global native marketplace Gemini,” says Arnaud Calonne, who’s head of sales in NZ,

“Yahoo Platforms will offer a unique service in the New Zealand market,” he says. “Both properties offer self-service and managed options, the latter of which is supported by a team of specialists on the ground in New Zealand.

Revealing the new brand at yesterday’s ad:tech New Zealand conference, Calonne said: “I think it is important to reflect the changes that we have made in 2016. The market needs to know that Yahoo Platform is a key player in the NZ technology ecosystem.”

He says Yahoo Platforms’ mission is to enable partners to use its technology and first party data to better target consumers online. “Combining this with our premium product offerings, we are very excited to develop our market leadership across native and programmatic in 2017,” Calonne said.

Products under Yahoo Platforms include:

  • Gemini – which leverages more than 165 billion signals to intent every day, providing brands the opportunity to reach 1 billion global users, including 600 million monthly mobile users to bespoke campaign objectives at scale.
  • BrighRroll DSP+ – programmatic software that automates the buying and targeting of programmatic video, display and native advertising. BrightRoll DSP has exclusive access to Yahoo NZ data spanning Mail, Search, Website Visits and Flurry In-App Engagement.
  • In addition to leveraging Yahoo data, BrightRoll DSP offers access to 3rd party data marketplaces and recently completed a local integration with Nielsen Digital Audience Rating and MOAT to offer in-platform optimisation for in-demographic audience reach and viewability.

The rebrand is effective immediately.
