“We finished last year with 100% of our teams from 2016 in the creative departments of agencies, and we’re fresh back at work today with the good news that two of those teams scored silver and bronze in the International Young Glory competition,” reports MDS AdSchool CD Kate Humphries.

“The brief, set by Matt Clark, (creative lead, Google Brand Studios, San Francisco) was a real toughie, because the students had to think hard about how to ‘motivate people to share their medical data to help cure cancer’.

“Congratulations to Josep Jover & Jacob Newton (now working at DDB Auckland) who won silver for Your Undies Cure Cancer, and to Aiken Hutcheson & Stan Lee (who were recently flown over to begin working at Innocean Worldwide in Sydney) for scoring a Bronze for Nobel for Everyone.

“It tops off a brilliant 2016 for our creative advertising students who also won two Crystal Awards for Innovation at AdStars; two finalist places at Future Lions; and nationally, both NewsWorks student awards and all four finalist places for the-soon- to-be- announced Google Student Axis.

World domination!
“On the subject of awards, we’d also like to send huge congratulations to AdSchool graduate Tom Paine at Y&R, who the Directory’s Big Won last week ranked as 2016’s most awarded creative director in the world, and McWhopper, the most awarded campaign of 2016. That, Mr. Paine is world domination.

“And just a heads up to all those last-minute would-be creatives who keep phoning or emailing us wanting to know the deadline for applications to our creative advertising course: 2017 kicks off in exactly 20 days.

“Yes, before you ask, that is an earlier start than your traditional university, but if you want results like the ones above, my friends, now’s the time to start getting up early.”
