NZ native & programmatic provider Yahoo Platforms has appointed Tom Adamson as programmatic specialist based in Auckland. The appointment follows a pivot towards the channels in November 2016, which is driven by Yahoo Platforms’ two key properties – programmatic resource Brightroll with Brightroll DSP+ and Brightroll Ad Exchange, and global native marketplace, Gemini.

This appointment comes as Yahoo Platforms continues to invest heavily in programmatic for 2017 after their recent rebrand in late 2016.

Adamson contributes experience in campaign management and development as well as programmatic strategy, training and planning. He will be responsible for devising and delivering tailored advertising solutions to optimise client performance.

Arnaud Calonne, head of sales at Yahoo Platforms, said: “We’re excited to welcome Tom to the team as we continue to strengthen our programmatic credentials. He’ll add invaluable depth to our team of specialists as we strive to provide better digital consumer targeting.”

Adamson will begin his role with Yahoo Platforms immediately.

Facebook ANZ chief exits
The Sydney-based managing director of Facebook’s Australia & New Zealand operation Stephen Scheeler has resigned. The MD role will be filled (in the interim) by Facebook’s group industry director Paul McCrory.

Scheeler has been MD of Facebook (and Instagram) since August 2015. He previously had been Facebook head of eCommerce.

B&T says his exit comes after several misadventures at Facebook – both globally and locally – around miscalculating video metric reporting, the reporting of likes and video shares, as well as metric reporting including organic reach, video, Instant Articles and referrals.

Over the weekend, Facebook said it will now to have its metrics externally audited.
