Two Auckland HR practitioners have joined forces to form Maslow, which is now offering recruitment & HR services to NZ’s creative industries, with a focus on the ad sector – and women & mothers.

“Maslow, is a people and culture agency,” says Jack. “As well as providing quality talent and minimising the pain points of large service fees, our point of difference is on keeping women current, making it an easy transition for mothers returning to the industry after maternity breaks.

Maslow is the brainchild of Vic Jack and Carlene Campbell, who between them they have 25 years’ experience in the creative & HR sectors.

“Our mission is simply to provide a personalised, cost effective (fixed fee) recruitment offering and bespoke HR consulting package to suit individual business requirements,” Jack says. “This allows you to then focus on what you do best, in the knowledge that your companies people and resourcing needs are being taken care of economically and effectively.

Working mums
“Carlene and I are both busy working mums and we know the challenges of returning back to the workforce after a break,” Jack said. “We want to assist busy professional mothers to have flexible work arrangements, enabling a positive trajectory for their career and allowing businesses to employ valuable talent.”

Carlene Campbell has 15 years’ experience in HR working for various corporate, many manufacturing (union & non-union) and service environments. She says she has built a solid foundation of generalist HR skills and specialist capabilities in people & performance management, change management, conflict resolution and total business human resource strategies.

Buzzword-free
“It’s my philosophy that HR practices are an enabler rather than a disabler,” Campbell said. “I have a no BS approach and I’m buzzword-free.

“We also don’t believe that HR advice has to be expensive; we want to see real results for your business and cost doesn’t need to be an inhibitor. We have a three tier packaged deal that will work for every business, whether it’s big or small.”

Vic Jack has a background in advertising and digital in NZ and in London. She is a qualified brand, UX and digital designer and has a good understanding of emergent technologies, and the innovation space. For the past 10 years she has contracted as a creative and digital talent agent in Auckland.

She’s ex-3rd Eye Recruitment Auckland.

“We already have some great talent on our books ready to match with your needs. You’d be mad not to contact us immediately, especially as we have fixed fee structure with no hidden costs,” says Jack.
