The Cannes Lions organisation has enlisted M+AD to help in its global search for a young journalist to travel to France to report on the 2017 festival – all expenses paid. While the search is global, the Lions have specifically sought to distribute the invitations to Kiwis.
The Lions will cover the cost of international travel and accommodation, provide a Press pass and bring them into the Cannes Lions team for exclusive access. There’s also opportunities to meet and work with international journalists.
New Zealand candidates need to apply to The Michael König Young Journalist Bursary, care of M+AD Daily (scroll down for the address) to put their name forward.
The bursary was launched in memory of Michael König, a German journalist from New Business who passed away at Cannes Lions in 2015. “Each year,” says Cannes Lions PR manager Marian Brannelly, “the festival offers a budding young journalist the ultimate Cannes Lions programme, tailored to maximise networking opportunities.
“They will provide editorial content for the Cannes Lions channels, helping to kick-start their career across a diverse mix of media including print, digital and broadcast.”
