Jesse Mulligan joins ad-writing shop

The Sunday Punch’s Writers Room has bolstered its talent by signing Jesse Mulligan to its roster of New Zealand comedians and comedy writers.

The Writers Room offers a collaborative approach to commercial scriptwriting by teaming up seasoned television writers and stand-up comedians with creative writing teams at agencies.

Mulligan is best known for his stints on 7 Days and Seven Sharp. He also writes (especially restaurant reviews) for Metro and the NZ Herald.

He has written for a number of commercial brands – EDMs for grabaseat, web videos for Sony Playstation and Vodafone, and radio commercials for national clients.

In London, he worked in food PR, specialising in idea generation and tone-of-voice copywriting.

The Sunday Punch Writers’ Room includes such comedic luminaries as Jeremy Corbett, Urzilla Carlson, Te Radar, The Downlow Concept, Jaquie Brown, and Paul Ego.
