Two well-known ASB executives have handed in their cards – ceo Barbara Chapman will leave early next year, while the bank’s marketing comms GM Roger Beaumont departs next month.
Chapman said: “The time feels right to hand over to next generation of leadership.”
She won’t be drawn on her next move: “In terms of my own future, I am just excited to be able to take some time to think about areas of future interest and challenge,” she said.
“Being chief executive of ASB has undoubtedly been the highlight of my career and I shall always be proud of what we have achieved.”
ASB chairman Gavin Walker said she will leave a lasting legacy at ASB. “Barbara’s decision to retire caps a remarkable career of continuous service to ASB and the Commonwealth Bank Group more broadly.
“She has been a passionate and effective chief executive for ASB and its people, successfully leading the organisation through a period of unprecedented change and market disruption.”
Roger Beaumont off to Sydney
ASB executive general manager of marketing & communications Roger Beaumont is taking on the role as group head of corporate affairs retail for Westpac Sydney. He had been in his current role for six years and will leave ASB next month.
