The Comms Council is running a free event to help all events and activations teams get up to speed with the new legislative changes before the festive season kicks in.

To help those people who make events happen the Comms Council PR, Social & Experiential Committee is running the free health & safety breakfast seminar in Auckland in 10 days – on Thursday 9 November at Kensington Swan Auckland.

The health and safety legislative change puts a focus on events and activations compliance with the new codes of conduct. “This breakfast seminar is a must for all operators who are unsure of the changes, risks and implications,” says the Comms Council’s Katie Ward.

The speakers

  • Kensington Swan’ Sarah-Lee Stead, a senior associate in the health & safety team – the largest specialist practice of its type in New Zealand.
  • Regional Facilities Auckland’s Ray Calcutt, a senior health & safety advisor, who will be showcasing best practice from the council’s perspective. He has extensive experience running large entertainment events (his personal highlights include Adele and The Rolling Stones!)
  • Rollercoaster & Event Safe’s Greg Skinner & Tracy Haggo, who will discuss how event and brand activation production businesses work within the new requirements.

The schedule

  • Date: Thursday 9 November
  • Time: 7:30am-9am
  • Venue: Kensington Swan, 18 Viaduct Harbour Drive, Auckland
  • Cost: Free to Comms Council and EMANZ members, $50 for other interested parties

RSVP by this coming Thursday (2 November) to office@commscouncil.nz. Provide full name, position, and contact details of attendees – and advise any special dietary requirements.
