Val Morgan has announced the appointment of Matt Tremain as NZ cinema sales director, replacing Suzie Lamborn who has resigned.

Tremain joins Val Morgan with over 20 years of media experience having worked across TV, digital, radio, publishing and experiential. He most recently held the sales director role at Mediaworks Auckland, and prior to that was advertising director at Bauer Media NZ.

Commenting on his new role Tremain said, “There could not be a better time to be working in cinema. The power of the big screen has never been more real with cinema one of the only remaining environments to deliver attentive and engaged audiences.”

Val Morgan sales director Tristan Wyse said, “we’re thrilled to have a media professional of Matt’s calibre join the team. As we move into a more data-focussed future for cinema, his experience across various screen platforms together with his leadership credentials will be invaluable for connecting advertisers to the cinema audience.”

Tremain replaces Suzie Lamborn who has resigned. “Val Morgan thank Suzie for her wonderful contribution and dedication to the business,” Wyse said. “She has been instrumental in the growth and repositioning of Val Morgan Cinema.

Tristan Wyse said Lamborn is “taking time out from the industry”.

Tremain commences with Val Morgan in January during peak box office season with blockbusters such as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Pitch Perfect 3 and Black Panther all set to deliver significant audiences, followed by Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom and The Incredibles 2 later in the year.
