Saatchi & Flux spotlight on Toyota’s 30 years at the top

Saatchi & Saatchi and Flux are helping Toyota New Zealand to celebrate 30 years as New Zealand’s top-selling automotive brand with a new Possums spot featuring the iconic possums throughout the ages.

The campaign shows the evolution of NZ’s favourite Toyota models since the ’80s such as the Hilux and the Corolla, with the possums’ hairstyles changing to reflect each decade, too.

Saatchi MD Paul Wilson said: “In 1988 Toyota became the top brand for the first time and haven’t looked back since. They’ve maintained their position as market leader for 30 consecutive years and currently hold 20.7% of the market share.

“Toyota is a much-loved brand in New Zealand and I’m proud to say a longstanding client partner. Here’s to many more years of continued success.”

Steve Prangnell, Toyota’s general manager of sales for the past 12 years, said: “We’d like to thank our loyal customers across New Zealand and our dealer network for their support in not just 2017 but over the last three decades.”
