Saturday’s Weekend Herald featured an interesting piece – with a taped interview – about Bridget Taylor, the ECD at Contagion, the full-service indie agency she founded with husband Dean Taylor.

A parallel story also ran on Maori Television (scroll down for the links).

In the story, written by Damien Venuto, Bridget Taylor, one of the few senior Māori women in advertising talks about what it feels like to be the odd one out.

“It is part of an ongoing effort at promoting diversity,” said Dean Taylor. “I also think there is a bigger story here on how advertising in general is at odds with the increasing diversity of New Zealand.


“Are we increasingly out of touch with creative department probably being 80-90% male and white?”
