To celebrate the upcoming Football World Cup & their Widespace publishing partnership, Big Mobile & Sky Kiwi hosted the six-a-side indoor agency football tournament in Auckland.
OMD, PHD, OgilvyMine & Dentsu competed against each other and a Big Mobile/Sky Kiwi select team in a round robin format at the YMCA on Greys Avenue.
“There were some impressive performances from all teams with only three points separating the top and bottom team,” said Big Mobile country sales director Michael Buhagiar.
When the dust had settled from pool play the final was set between Dentsu Aegis & OgilvyMine. “Ogilvy came out of the blocks fast and were up 1-0 with a sweet strike from Ben Scanlan,” Buhagiar says. “The game was end to end and Lauren Daly from Dentsu pivoted and smashed a shot into the top corner taking the game to penalties.
“With Ogilvy missing their first penalty and all others even, it came down to Daniel Cho from Dentsu to seal the win for his team and he managed to do that with the keeper not getting enough on it to save it.
“Dentsu were proud and deserved winners!”
