Award-winning comedy director signs with Curious

SYDNEY, Thursday: Curious Film has signed British comedy director Lucy Forbes to its roster for Australasia. Known for her witty perspective and snappy storytelling abilities, Forbes is one of the leading voices of the new generation of comedy directors in the UK.

Based in London, she has experience in both TV and advertising, regularly directing shows for Viacom US’s Comedy Central, while helming smart campaigns for major brands, such as ASDA, Carphone Warehouse, and Oreos. 

Most recently she has directed the critically acclaimed series In My Skin for BBC1. A darkly comic, coming-of-age story about a 16-year-old girl whose mother has been sectioned in a mental health facility. To deal with reality she tells lies – a lot of lies. It was named critics’ choice in The Observer and The Times.

Her commercials work has won a Cannes Lion, two Clios and a Webby. She’s worked with e international talent such as David Tennant, Mr T, Kate Moss, Nicole Sherzinger, Katherine Ryan, Doug Stanhope and Robert Webb.
