CHRISTCHURCH, Today: OMD now has a southern office after acquiring the largest media agency in the South Island. From today ImMediate in Christchurch will become part of the Omnicom family.

OMD ceo Nigel Douglas said: “Christchurch is a place we want to be. We see this as an opportunity to bring the best of our digital, data tech offering into the South Island market for the benefit of all the local businesses and organisations.

“Our aim is to help organisations achieve their goals and grow our businesses in this area together.”

“OMD is now the only NZ media agency with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.”

ImMediate – with a team of 10 – was started (as an independent agency) by Sue McCrea in 2003 after an extensive career in media. She says she is relishing the opportunity for her team to work with such a well-resourced agency.

“We are all looking forward to an amazing future under the OMD brand which can offer our clients local service with global connections,” she said.

“Christchurch has not had a global agency in this city for many years and I’m delighted as managing partner of OMD Christchurch to be part of that positive change for the city.”

The changeover is effective ‘ImMediately’ with OMD now becoming the only New Zealand media agency with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
