AUCKLAND, Thursday: Education New Zealand, Colenso BBDO, and justONE were the big winners at the2018 NZDM Awards last night. More than 500 guests celebrated the magic behind personalised marketing, hosted by the Marketing Association.

Entries which showed excellence in customised, one-to-one customer engagement driven by data and insights were the big winners on the night.

MA ceo Tony Mitchell said: “This confirms the seismic shift in what the industry now considers as DM, also demonstrated by the inclusion of new categories such as Purpose Driven Marketing, Customer Experience and Excellence in Personalisation.

Chief judge Trevor Moodie said: “The range of entries demonstrates the wide acceptance and value of the awards to the marketing community. And this year it is particularly pleasing to see the number of new entries from companies that haven’t entered before – adding to the diversity and impact of the awards.


“Colenso won seven golds, justONE six.”

Education NZ made a clean sweep of the trophies’ table winning the Nexus Supreme, Grand Prix and The Keith Norris Direct Marketing Organisation of the Year awards, in addition to 7 golds, 3 silvers and 1 bronze award across a variety of categories.

Agencies celebrate
Colenso BBDO also had reason to celebrate, taking home 8 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze awards with clients Spark, Mars NZ, Fonterra Brands NZ, and BNZ. Track NZ nabbed 4 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze for their work with Westpac NZ on their Playback 2.0 and Uber Rides, On Us campaigns.

justONE celebrated with client Foodstuffs NZ winning six awards across three different campaigns. Affinity ID noted 10 wins on the night, including two golds for their work on Southern Cross Health Society’s Altogether Better campaign.

Other gold winners at the 2018 NZDM Awards include TAB (with agency partner Skinny Marketing), Vodafone New Zealand (with agency partner FCB), Mercury, and Fuji Xerox NZ.
