CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday: “Friday 15th March hit hard,” writes Phantom managing partner Jamey Holloway about the tragedy that has beset us all. “Christchurch is our tūrangawaewae and home for many of us. What can we say or do that could be half adequate in the face of this?”
Phantom and its street artist partners chose action, with posters in Linwood and Riccarton to support the wider community.
“The artists are stepping up without hesitation to express the love and solidarity we feel towards the Muslim community, loudly opposing the extremism and hate that has done such damage to people we hold dear,” Hollway says.
“Thank you @ARO Against Racism, Ōtautahi, @marshyskull and @rubyalicerose for this artwork – more of these along with the work of other artists will be rolled out nationwide over the coming weeks.
