SINGAPORE, Friday: NZ performed above its weight at the 2019 APAC Effie Awards, with DDB (#2) and Barnes Catmur Friends Dentsu (#3) both being named among the top three agencies in the region.

NZ also scored three Golds (two to DDB, and one for BCF Dentsu), three Silvers (all to DDB), and seven Bronzes (BCF Dentsu four, and Colenso BBDO three).

On a country basis, India won 14 awards (including the Grand Effie). Australia also had 14. New Zealand came in just behind with 13.

DDB NZ chief strategy officer Rupert Price said: “We’re incredibly proud to be named in the top three most effective agencies in Asia Pacific.

“This is such a high-performing region when it comes to effective creativity, so to receive this particular honour is a very big deal.

“While it’s always nice to win awards, we know our clients care most about results that drive growth for their business, and this recognition comes off the back of campaigns that have truly delivered in that respect.”
