AUCKLAND, Today: Stuff’s Neighbourly turns five this month. Kiwis have embraced NZ’s second-largest member community behind Facebook, and Stuff says their numbers are increasing exponentially.

Some key stats:

  • Neighbourly has almost three quarters of a million members across New Zealand.
  • One in four Kiwi households are using Neighbourly.
  • It’s New Zealand’s largest private social network for local communities.
  • It is currently the second biggest member community in New Zealand (by unique audience – Neilsen Online Ratings) behind Facebook and ahead of Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Stuff’s head of Neighbourly Sarah Moore said: “Neighbourly enables Kiwis to find and connect with local businesses, engage with neighbours, seek and share advice, buy, sell, trade and give away items, get local and community news updates, interact with interest groups and organisations.

“The key aim of the site is to keep content as local as possible.”
