SINGAPORE, Thursday: Three campaigns from NZ have been selected by a Campaign Asia-Pacific agency poll as leading contenders for next week’s 2019 Cannes Lions.

Colenso BBDO’s Spark Kupu, Clemenger BBDO’s NZTA Belted Survivors, and DDB’s KiwiRail A new New Zealand (along with 80 other global campaigns) were picked most likely to succeed by a panel of 42 APAC agency leaders.

“The only rule? No picking work from your own agency.”

Representing NZ on the panel were Colenso comms director Joe Carter and FCB chief creative officer Tony Clewett,

A Campaign Asia-Pacific spokesperson said: “We reached out to a long list of creative leaders across Asia with a simple request: Pick a few campaigns from your market or the region that you think will (or should) win metal.

“The only rule? No picking work from your own agency or network. We used this method last year, and we believe it forces (or frees) our participants to think more purely about the work that moved them the most, rather than what their boss might want them to say.”
