NZ has 268 entries in play at Cannes

CANNES, Sunday: The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity opened today with a total of 30,953 entries from 89 countries competing. New Zealand has 268 entries in 2019, down on last year’s 305.

Entries from China increased 5%, and India 8% but – despite the return of the Publicis network – overall entries are down 1419 on last year’s overall total of 32,372. The previous year (2017) entries numbered 41,170.

From Asia-Pacific region 6,089 entries were submitted this year – up 448 entries on last year’s total of 5641. Australia submitted 944 entries (1056 last year).

The USA again sent in the most entries (8138); the UK submitted 2268; Brazil 2093 entries; France (1345) and Germany (1294).

The winners of the Lions will be announced at award shows taking place all this week (Monday to Friday). Some shortlists have already been announced (scroll down).
