CHRISTCHURCH, Today: According to the latest 2019 Nielsen readership report, Canterbury regional newspaper group Star Media – part of Allied Press, which owns Dunedin’s daily ODT – has enjoyed a 14% increase in readership across its Canterbury titles.

The Star Max pack consists of The Star, Bay Harbour News, Selwyn Times and North Canterbury News, which collectively have a combined circulation of over 150,000 copies, giving adver reach to over 164,000 readers with just one ad placement in Canterbury.

“The Otago Daily Times in Dunedin had an increase of 7% in readership as well.”

Allied Press ceo Grant McKenzie said: “It was very pleasing to see all the hard work and efforts of the teams in our two largest South Island markets pay dividends.

“Readership is well up in Christchurch and the Otago Daily Times in Dunedin had an increase of 7% in readership as well.

“Our increase in readership of our metropolitan titles is reassuring to our advertisers, they can be reassured of a trusted platform with proven results in a cluttered media landscape.

“Allied Press are passionate about publishing and we are seeing the results of our core focus on print, paying dividends with audience growth.”
