Southern Hemisphere a fail @ Cannes 2019

CANNES, Sunday: An unremarkable week for APAC at the Lions Festival in France – zero Golds for any entry from the APEC countries, including Australia and New Zealand. The Northern Hemisphere ruled unchallenged.

Colenso BBDO, along with partners Finch, Sixty Four and Franklin Road did pick up two more Bronzes (in the Film Lions) on the final night) to go with the six Bronzes won earlier in the week by Colenso, Clemenger BBDO, FCB, Special Group and VMLY&R

NZ had 34 entries through to the shortlists. But no Silvers.

Bronze Lions

  • Special Group for Uber Eats Shark Bait created in conjunction with Wonder, Oddboy and Pead PR (in Outdoor category)
  • Colenso BBDO for DB Breweries I’m Drinking It For You with partners Liquid Studios, The Machine Room, Carat and Drum (in Film Craft).
  • Colenso BBDO for Spark Wedding Speech, with Finch, The Editors, and Franklin Rd (in Film)
  • FCB for Ministry of Social Development Undercover Crosswords (in Media) 
  • VMLY&R and MBM for Trade Me R.I.P. Simon via Flying Fish and Kaleidoscope.
  • Colenso for Spark Generation Voice, with Franklin Rd, The Editors, PHD (in Film).
  • Colenso for Spark Kupu developed with Rush Digital Interactive, Creature, Franklin Rd, PHD, AUT and Tiki Taane (in Mobile)
  • Clemenger BBDO Wellington for Hawkes Bay Regional Council Look Right, Look Left (in Radio and Audio).
