SYDNEY, Friday: NZ-born agency Special Group Australia had a good night at the annual industry Mumbrella Awards in Sydney, taking home Campaign of the Year and the Independent Agency of the Year titles.

Their winning campaign was for Uber Eats Tonight I’ll be eating (which earlier took out the Best Use of Real Time Marketing category). Special won the Indie title for its innovative ambush of the Australian Open (scroll down for the link).

The wins came of the back of an impressive 12 months for Special’s 50-strong Sydney office, after they won the Adnews Independent Agency of the Year title and took home two Silver and four Bronze Lions at Cannes.

“Special now has a very, very strong Transtasman offering.”

Special co-founder/NZ ECD Tony Bradbourne said: “It’s an extremely proud moment to see Special Australia have such a dominant awards night – this is quite some achievement. And everything we hoped for when we launched a few years ago.

“Special now has a very, very strong Transtasman offering. I think the proof is in the outstanding level of strategic thinking and creative execution across brands like Tourism New Zealand and Uber Eats.”
