AUCKLAND, Today: The NZ Herald reporter Claire Trevett – whose work has previously been questioned by M+AD – did another slack job in her backgrounder this morning on new National Party wannabe Christopher (“call me Chris”) Luxon.
She listed all his achievements – except the one that arguably matters most of all.
The man is a self-confessed “evangelical Christian” – a sect that maintains the belief that the “essence of the Gospel consists of the doctrine of salvation by grace, solely through faith in Jesus’s atonement” (Wikipedia).
In other words, he’s a Trump clone – conservative, climate-change denyer, and fun policeman.
