AUCKLAND, Today: Following a competitive pitch, VMLY&R Auckland has won the Villa Maria Estate creative account. Previously, the winemaker used different agencies on a project basis, so there was no incumbent.

And – as usual – neither agency nor client would name the unsuccessful pitchers.

Y&RMLY&R Auckland MD, James Mok said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be appointed, it is an exciting time to be working with Villa Maria Estate, a pioneering innovator in its field, to build their international profile and increase market share.”

VMLY&R’s remit includes creation of a new global communication platform to increase awareness and penetration for the Villa Maria brand in key international markets while also translating to the more mature NZ market.

“The agency’s remit includes creation of a new global communication platform.”

Mok said: “We already have big ideas for a new platform that will be executed across multiple channels and brand experiences and we can’t wait to get them to market”.

Villa Maria head of marketing Jesper Poulsen said: “During the pitch process I was impressed how the agency took the time to really get under the skin of our business and understand our context.

“VML&YR’s response to our brief was strategically spot on, creatively impactful & differentiated while staying true to the very essence of our brand. I am looking forward to working with the talented team at the agency to test, fully develop and launch an exciting new creative platform.”

Work commences immediately.
