AUCKLAND, Today: New Zealand’s five biggest banks spent a collective $117 million on advertising last year – a 69% jump on 2017, according to a report by business writer Tamsyn Parker in today’s Herald (scroll down for the link).

Figures from Nielsen Media show the banking sector is followed by adspend on travel and mobile phones.

Nielsen’s Tony Boyte told Parker the increase across ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Westpac and Kiwibank was significant.
