CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday: Sydney-based market researcher Fiftyfive5 has established an office in Christchurch, and hired senior consultant Niamh Buchanan to run it.

Buchanan has 15 years of research and CX experience in New Zealand, Ireland and Australia across a wide range of industries and clients including retail, financial, utilities, social and government, tourism, FMCG, software and pharmaceutical.

In New Zealand she ran her own consultancy and was previously customer insights manager at Kathmandu and senior customer insights specialist at Meridian Energy.

Sydney-based Fiftyfive5 founding partner Darren Kemp said: “Niamh will further extend the Fiftyfive5 footprint in the South Island, as well as bringing advanced qualitative, CX and strategic capability to our New Zealand team.

“She will have access to our full research and strategy capabilities out of our Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore offices.

Einstein: “If I had an hour to solve a problem, and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first fiftyfive minutes determining the proper question to ask. Then I can solve the problem in 5 minutes.”

“Since our launch 10 years ago New Zealand has been a strategically important market for us, so we’re excited to be further investing in talent as we grow our footprint.”

Auckland-based Fiftyfive5 NZ country lead said: “Niamh is a great addition to our team that further strengthens our presence and capability with highly experienced talent in the region.”

The proper question
Albert Einstein once said: “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first fiftyfive minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question; I could solve the problem in fewer than 5 minutes.”
