The Breach Boys

AUCKLAND, Monday: Ponsonby ad agency Vision Thing and design agency Wield have launched Spreader Stories – a series of animated videos to help NZ’s fight against Covid-19.

Both agencies were inspired by real lockdown breach stories – and have called out the stupid ways people are putting themselves and others at risk.

Vision Thing’s Ian Sweeney & Dom Antelme are a creative consultancy & directing duo.

The videos star the the virus itself, with support from the voices of Dai Henwood and Antonia Prebble.

“Communicating those messages in a light-hearted manner is a great way for people to take them on board and remember them.”

Prebble said: “Communicating those messages in a light-hearted, humorous manner can be a great way for people to take them on board and remember them.”

Vision Thing’s Ian Sweeney (ex- Saatchi, DDB, 99 and True) said: “We’re not big fans of this pandemic. This is our way of helping to fight the spread of the virus and making people think twice about breaching it.”

Vision Thing’s Dom Antelme (ex AMV BBDO UK) said: “In fact, we’re looking for stories and lockdown breach accounts to turn into future Spreader Stories. Simply comment on the videos on Vision Thing’s Instagram account (@wearevisionthing) and we might be turning your story into the next video.”

Vision Thing and Wield reckon they’ll “keep making these videos for as long people keep flouting the lockdown”.

Home comforts
Crucially, of course, these video shorts were created from the comfort of their own homes.
