WELLINGTON, Tuesday: Clemenger BBDO has fired up a new campaign, #Stayhomeforit, for the Government’s Unite Against Covid-19 programme.

An unnamed statement issued by the agency said: “With New Zealanders currently in the midst of mandatory self-isolation, the Government’s Unite against Covid-19 campaign is calling on industry and creators to help inspire young Kiwis to stay committed to sticking it out at home.

#Stayhomeforit calls on businesses, brands, musicians and artists to tease what awaits on the other side of self-isolation to their social followings, with the promise of bringing them back or releasing them once self-isolation lifts – from the products people can’t wait to get their hands on again, to unreleased products, songs or other creations.

“The creations can be old favourites, new items already in the pipeline, or completely new creations developed during self-isolation.”

“They’re challenging their audience to commit to staying home for them – because the sooner they help stop the spread, the sooner self-isolation ends, the sooner the creations will be released and enjoyed. [Scroll down for the toolkit.]

“The creations can be old favourites, new items already in the pipeline which may have been delayed due to Covid-19, or could be completely new creations developed during self-isolation.

“Connecting businesses with consumers, and artists with fans, #Stayhomeforit offers an optimistic view of what awaits on the other side of self-isolation – and gives fans and consumers a simple way to show their continued support of brands and artists.”

M+AD asked Clemenger for an agency/Government credits list.

“Not for this one,” our correspondent (who chose not to be named) responded.

“The work for Unite Against Covid-19 is a team effort. This particular #stayhomeforit work is still developing as artists, businesses and brands come onboard.”
