AUCKLAND, Tuesday: Indie agency giant Stanley St is extending its portfolio into the publishing business with plans to launch four local lifestyle magazines – online and in print from October. And they’ve contracted veteran magazine editor Sido Kitchen to head the launch (as group publisher).

The new group, School Road Publishing, will reveal the names of the titles and editors will in “due course”.

Stanley St MD Greg Partington chose not to comment, deferring to Kitchin: “This publishing business is very much Sido’s and she’ll be doing the talking,” he told M+AD.

“It’s a buoyant market for mags right now and readers are relishing the comfort, connection and inspiration they bring.”

Kitchin said (in a statement): “It’s a buoyant market for mags right now and in a Covid world, readers are relishing the comfort, connection and inspiration they bring.

“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to create fresh, new titles that will enhance Kiwi lives with 100 percent locally generated content.”

The release said: “School Road Publishing is a standalone business based at Stanley St.”
