AUCKLAND, Monday: Stanley St ECD Brad Collett has unveiled three new hires into the creative department – including in a “rockstar” creative director.

“I’ve loved every minute of my new role” says Collett, who was himself appointed just two months’ back (from DDB). “And now it’s even better with such a talented bunch of lead creatives who are already doing amazing mahi.

“While we haven’t had the chance to work together for long in the agency with lockdown, Zoom is our new connector and I am just so proud of what we are achieving. KFC’s Lolli-Popcorn Chicken is an amazing example of this.

“First cab off the rank was snapping up the very talented Anna Yates (Stickley). Having just arrived back from Melbourne, Anna brings with her a wealth of experience and a swathe of awards including gold from Cannes, One Show and Young Guns, plus a Yellow Pencil at D&AD.

She said: “Coming home to New Zealand, I was looking for an agency with a strong focus on the work, a diverse way of thinking and a lovely bunch of people. I’ve definitely found that at Stanley St.”

“Three great hires, passionate about their work, relentless in their pursuit of big ideas and just great people to have in any creative department.”

“She is partnered with the renowned Billy McQueen, a world class creative director but an amazing artist too, who is signing on fulltime after a stint freelancing. This was a big move for McQueen after spending years as an independent contractor.

“McQueen said: “Actually, it wasn’t such a big decision. I really like the energy of the place and Brad has a vision that I want to be part of.”

Next up was the appointment of retail creative director Diana Hornal.

Collett: “Retail is always evolving, and at Stanley St we needed someone who has a vision of what the future of retail creative looks like, through data and digital-driven outputs. Diana has this ability. She is a natural leader, and a talented and enthusiastic creative.

“She has a strong conceptual mind as well as the ability to design and art direct her ideas into award-winning creative solutions that will help guide this way of working.”

Diana Hornal said: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Brad in the past and couldn’t turn down the opportunity to do so again.”

ECD Collett: “I feel excited about our line up – three great hires, passionate about their work, relentless in their pursuit of big ideas and just great people to have in any creative department.”
