AUCKLAND, Today: Hot on the heels of launching two months ago, the Independent Media Agencies of New Zealand (IMANZ) industry body has appointed its first employee, marketing manager Melissa Hayden.

IMANZ is also calling for expressions of interest in a general manager role to lead the organisation in its mission to advocate on behalf of Aotearoa New Zealand’s independent media agencies.

The establishment of both roles follows a surge of interest from across the local independent media agency landscape, with 25 launch-day members, and a further 11 coming on board since.

The new industry body has been further supported by almost 20 media and martech partners providing commercial, technological, and professional development support.

IMANZ chair and co-founder of independent media agency D3, Alex Radford, says thanks to outstanding early industry support, IMANZ is well-positioned to deliver value for its members and the wider industry.

“Melissa is already helping us gear up to deliver a programme of impactful events, development opportunities, research and practical resources.”

“We’re thrilled to have Melissa onboard who is already helping us gear up to deliver a programme of impactful events, development opportunities, research and practical resources for our members,” says Radford.

“We’re now looking to recruit as GM an exceptional leader and passionate advocate for independent Kiwi media agencies across the motu.”

Radford says the incoming GM will be responsible for overseeing the running and growth of IMANZ, which ultimately means ensuring the provision of exceptional value and advocacy on behalf of members and partners.

“This is a role for somebody who’s a respected leader and who’s particularly energised by the idea of helping Kiwi-owned businesses succeed.”
